WHAT IS MARKETING?

I love marketing and sincerely believe that marketing has and continues to have the power to change and influence our way of life.

Marketing is everywhere; we're being marketed at every second. Interestingly, the majority of people don't know that they themselves are marketers. Everyone is a marketing professional.

Why do I love marketing?

I can inspire people, provide them with hope for the best. Marketing is at the heart of communicating your ideas in a way that will inspire and improve lives. One product that has been able to do so brilliantly in my view is Apple.

Apple is a lifestyle brand. Apple products allow customers to live up to a certain level of status and they are able to communicate that through marketing. Without marketing Apple would not be as competitive as it is now. I mean, have you seen what Samsung has been able to do with their products. The innovation, the customizability, durability, the list can go on. The Galaxy Z fold and flip 4 for example.

The point is you don't have to come up with the greatest idea, product or service. By just inspiring people with the story you tell and tell your story everywhere and anywhere you will find your people.

So what makes everyone else a marketer?

I am going to give you everyday examples and you should be able to get the point…

• If you are a parent you had to inspire your child to have breakfast, this was probably done with the words you used and how you present the food (Conversion Rate optimization)

• If you are looking for a job, you had to inspire the recruiters that your are the best candidate through your CV (Copywriting)

• If you are on Instagram you pick the best picture with a great caption for your friends to be inspired to click like (content creation)

• If you're a marketer you are inspiring people to buy an organization's product or service.
